Conference Description
The conference explores summer heat emergencies in Texas when sweltering summer temperatures rise and the nurse’s role in the care of the patient including evaluation and management of heat related emergencies.
Topics consist of: hyperthermic emergencies in special populations (as well as Hot Cars events), drowning/near-drowning and submersion events, and native snakebites emergencies. One’s role to mitigate injury and strategies for nursing engagement related to public health are examined.
At the end of the conference participants will have increase knowledge related to:

- Recognizing unique opportunities for hyperthermic emergencies at various stages of life, actions to take in helping prevent these emergencies and how to treat the different stages of hyperthermia.

- Registration at the door – $30
*Student – as defined by ENA: an individual obtaining their initial licensure as an RN (registered Nurse).
